Another Power Station at Koeberg?

Public enterprises minister Alec Erwin announced (March 2006) that Eskom intends to build a conventional nuclear power station - in addition to the pebble bed modular reactor (PBMR) planned for Koeberg.

A feasibility study for the nuclear power station was begun around October 2005 and would take about two years to complete...roll on October 2007.

Eskom says it is not definite that it will be built at Koeberg. Koeberg is the only site licensed to carry a nuclear power station, but Eskom owns land on the coast in the Eastern Cape near Oyster Bay, in the Western Cape in the Overstrand and in the Northern Cape near Kommagas.
